Trail Etiquette
*Please be prompt and allow ample time to register before the ride.
*Always be considerate of other riders and their level of skill. Do not run up hill or pass other riders at a gait faster than a walk. Remember that horses in a group situation will almost always react differently from normal.
*If you bring a guest, ensure that he or she is familiar with and understands these rules and that both horse and rider can handle the relative difficulty of the ride scheduled.
*All horses that kick must have a red ribbon tied to their tails.
*No dogs, stallions or ponying of horses.
*Alcoholic beverages are allowed in moderation. Smoking in designated areas only.
*Children must be accompanied by an adult.
*Stay on the trail, do not take shortcuts. Private property must always be respected. Do not ride over cultivated ground. Close each gate you open. Observance of county and state park rules is mandatory on those properties.
*Try to keep one to three horse lengths between you and the next rider. Please maintain contact. Stay behind the trail boss and do not fall behind the drag rider. Do not leave the ride without permission.
*Riding lame or injured horses or abuse of horses will not be tolerated.

There is something about the outside of a horse that
is good for the inside of a man.
